Bus Explodes Near Grand Central Station, Blowing Out Windows

A fire ripped through an MTA bus near Grand Central Station on Thursday morning, officials said.

Photos of the city bus circulating on social media show it with all of its windows blown out and shattered glass on the ground.

Fire officials said the blaze erupted at 6:40 a.m. and was under control by 7:40 a.m.

One witness said the bus “exploded.”

“NYC bus explosion next to Grand Central Station. Windows blown out on both sides,” Twitter user @MichaelAnthy tweeted along with photos of the bus.

No one was injured, officials said.
